I hit the KOM at the top of the climb just behind Brendan and pushed hard to keep him in my sight, we then went through a long section of single track that descended off the mountain and I lost sight of Brendan. I knew I would have to keep my pace up as there was a group of riders who would be close behind if I tapped off the pace even just a little.
The racing came to an exciting finish with the last climb being the decider for the overall result.
